Welcome
to NECA New York. We are the largest chapter of the
National Electrical Contractors Association, the
country’s largest association of electrical contractors
and the voice of the $100 billion industry responsible
for lighting, power, and communication systems in
buildings and communities across the United States.
Our electrical contractors are among the very finest
in New York with members in New York City and Westchester
and Fairfield Counties.
NECA New York works to promote higher standards, quality
workmanship and training for a skilled workforce. We
advance our industry through advocacy, education, research
and standards development. NECA New York is responsible
for negotiating and administering labor agreements
with Local Union #3 of the International Brotherhood
of Electrical Workers.
In a recent issue of NECA’s Electrical Contractor, several key industry economists and key business leaders reviewed current market trends and shared their predictions about the length and scope of the economic recovery.
The Foundation for Electrical Construction Inc. has a clear focus. It funds, conducts, coordinates, and monitors the industry's most critical research and commissions and delivers to the industry exemplary management education and supervisory training programs. ELECTRI Council members analyze industry trends and issues, review project proposals submitted by the finest universities and research institutes, recommend major initiatives for project funding, and serve on appropriate blue-ribbon Task Forces to guide each commissioned project from start to finish. The Task Force members' insight and experience help make certain that the initiatives funded are of the highest quality and that the results are made available to every member of the electrical contracting industry.
In conjunction with The Joint Industry Board and Local 3 IBEW, NECA New York published a letter to owners, developers and General Contractors in Cranes and City Hall last month. It was a letter encouraging them to continue utilizing our union electrical contractors and skilled workforce. It was an opportune moment to promote our experience and dedication to productivity and job excellence.
